About >> Monica

I grew up in the cozy little town of Karlstad MN located in NW MN. I graduated from NDSU in 1997 with a BS degree in Interior Design. My first job out of college was at the NDSU Alumni Association (Go Bison!). The first design job and internship was at Ste. Marie Design, a hospitality/light commercial firm, where I was employed for 4 years until the Fargo office closed. I then found employment with a builder where I discovered a love of residential design and new construction. While at a design center, I was the lead designer on the 2006 and 2007 Charity Homes that benefited the Roger Maris Cancer Center. These various positions gave me the experience needed to realize my dream of owning my own business! I think, for any parent, balancing work and home life is a difficult juggling act. While I love being an interior designer, I love being a mom more. Owning my own business gives me the flexibility to do both!

Various organizations that I am active in include NDID (North Dakota Interior Designers), Great Plains Toastmasters Club, the FM Home Builders Association and I recently joined the Tour de Habitat committee that raises money for our local Habitat for Humanity.  Outside of work and activities, I enjoy my family including my husband, Phil, and three sons ages 11, 7 and 2. My great crew of boys! I am also active in my church, Hope Lutheran, and in my downtime relish a book or design magazine and look forward to a trip or two each year. Life is busy and I love it that way!
